Why I want to be your next Dubuque County Supervisor?
I was born in this county, I was raised in this county,I made my living in this county and when I die I'm going to be buried in this county. This is my home and I'm tired of watching it being run into the ground. On June 8th I'm asking the people of Dubuque County to elect me in the Democratic primary the first step in taking our county back by giving me a chance so I can fix this mess.
Wasteful spending, poor management and a commitment to business as usual has made our county roads the pothole capital of Iowa and the laughing stock of the Tri-State area. The taxpayers deserve better, the people of this county deserve better and it's time for a new direction. If elected county supervisor roads will be my top priority and putting an end to business as usual by taking a hands on approach in changing the way things get done.
About me:
A life long resident of Dubuque County I have lived in Asbury and Dubuque before taking over the family farm in 1989 just west of Asbury. Owner of Leslein Seed Sales a seed distribution company that has sold seed to farmers in the Tri-state area since 1988. In 1999 I was co founder of the hay auction in Dyersville which is now the largest drop and run hay auction in the country marketing hay from nearly ever state and Canada providing tri-state hay and livestock producers the top market to meet all there needs.
To the voters:
On June 8th you will decide the future of our county. On this web site you will see millions of your tax dollars being wasted and by fiscal year 2013 another $5,000,000.00 could go down the drain if we stay the course. I represent change, as a farmer if you didn't change your business practices in the last 30 years you are no longer farming. The county hasn't changed the way things get done and that's why we are in the terrible shape with our roads. My goal if elected is to be able to look back after my term is up and be able to say I left Dubuque County better than I found it and gave our hard working taxpayers a better return on their investment.
